3D FPV camera The BlackBird 2 – is a high quality and technologically advanced flight stereo camcorder for flying from the first person view (FPV)! The camera creates a stereoscopic video in real time! Despite the title, this is not the continuation of the series of the cameras. This is a brand new product on the market of FPV. This is a new stereoscopic video camera that can generate an analog video signal in 3D format SIDE-BY-SIDE or INTERLACED 3D that allows the transmission of 3D video with a single normal FPV video transmitter (1 VTX, 1 VRX).
Our new product we`ve decided to name 3D FPV The BlackBird 2 .... Yes, yes, we know that we didn`t want to name a new camera like this, but after much heart-searching and contests about a new name, we decided not to change the name because we didn`t find a suitable one and a lot of people are already familiar with The BlackBird. And while our first BlackBird has been already travelling around the world more than an year and around various r/c devices, we have been designing a new camera, which was supposed to improve everything and to realize new solutions that we had never been done before. Today at BlackBird 2 there are realized the functions of the discharger of AVR controller; work of 3D video modes interlace, side by side, crop, exposure; video switches; manual convergence and zoom. First pre-production samples we received in April of this year and now it`s available to buy BlackBird 2 on the product page.
What does distinguish and highlight The BlackBird 2 from many other FPV cameras?
3D video: Man looks at the world through two eyes and sees his volume, it allows him to navigate better in space, gives a sense of speed and distance... When you use traditional 2D FPV camera- it is the same as to look at the world with one eye - to see the world flat, to see the world in 2D. Using 3D FPV camera The BlackBird you will receive 2 new sensations and emotions, you will look at the world through two eyes, you will see the world in shape - to see in 3D!
Video modes: We wanted to make the camera versatile and for this we have provided support of various video formats: 3D SIDE BY SIDE 3D SIDE BY SIDE CROP 16:9, 3D SIDE-BY-SIDE CROP manual, INTERLACE 3D, 2D video mode, dual-video mode. The extensive number of supported video formats enables you to use flight stereo camera The BlackBird almost with any equipment, whether it would be 3D TV/monitor, 3D video glasses or stereogram for FPV.
Video outputs: Flight stereo camera The BlackBird 2 has 3 analog video output, with which you can simultaneously receive the video: the first video output is intended to produce 3D/2D video signal in the selected format. The second one gives video in 2D-mode from the right sensor. The third video output gives video in 2D from the left sensor.
Transfer 3D/2D video through one or two channels: One video channel is for the reception and transmission of 3D video in 3D format SIDE BY SIDE or 3D INTERLACE. You can use one standard FPV video transmitter and a video receiver with the frequency of 900 MHz, 1.2 GHz, 2.4 GHz, 5.8 GHz. Two video channels - for use with video glasses 3D Sky Zone or in any other device (for example Transporter3D) where is needed two channels of video, you can use two standard FPV video transmitter and two video receiver with the frequency of 900 MHz, 1.2 GHz, 2.4 GHz, 5.8 GHz!
Modularity: We decided to make The BlackBird 2 really comfortable and more functional than any other flight camera. We want to relieve the user from thinking where to place the video transmitter... After all, what could be easier module installation video transmitter on the camera itself?! For this purpose on the front of the camera there is a special connector to receive the video and power. You can install on the camera the module video transmitter or IR illumination. You can develop your own module with the features you need, and use it as you want.
The size, weight and power of the camera: 3D FPV camera The Blackbird 2 has small weight 21 grams and very convenient size – you can set the camera on the copter, glider or RC car! The camera is powered from 5 to 15 Volts, i.e. you can connect 3D FPV camera the Blackbird 2 to the onboard Li-po battery 2S - 3S.
Today the Blackbird 2 fully ready to the production. The camera was presented at various events in Russia and already has the first owners of pre-production samples as in the CIS as and abroad.

On June 27, the team FPV3DCAM presented the camera The BlackBird 2 at the festival of the multirotor machines. There was demonstrated the operation of our new flight 3D fpv camera the Blackbird 2, which was mounted on a quadrocopter Phantom 2, R/C car and on a tripod. The camera could be experienced with video glasses Prober EVG920, HeadPlay, the prototype stereo helmet for FPV glasses PilotStereo and helmet of virtual reality Oculus rift DK2.
Review of Dmitry Latkov: "Today at the festival of the multirotor machines we tested a new digital 3D camera The BlackBird 2, tried in different variations: 3D glasses, stereoscope, the Oculus rift. In my opinion the best result for the price and quality is the stereoscope (but with a good screen), you feel 3D better than wearing glasses, though, I have not very good glasses for FPV flight (prober). Very much the effect is visible when quadrocopter flies near objects, but unfortunately the weather was bad, constantly was drizzling, the sky was covered. During watching this video you feel a desire to fly in beautiful places, close to monuments, parks, try to fly through any obstacles. Well, unfortunately I couldn`t try on the FPV racer, though I was eager to see how the picture would look on it, because it flies low and close to the obstacles, and even at a terrible speed, I think the immersion in virtual reality would be maximum with all these facts:)"
The review of Nikolay Kopylov: " Hello Everyone. As I understand I am the first Russian owner of the first sample of the 3D camera The BlackBird 2. I`d like to share with my first impressions. This is really cool! At distances up to 10-15 meters you feel good 3D, full feeling of flight from the cab. Unfortunately my experience and quadracopter doesn`t not allow me to fly very close to the obstacles, but even from a distance of 2-3 meters it is impressive. I think for FPV racing it will be a cool decision. Therefore I put up for sale my quadrics and look for 250 frame). I fly with the stereoscope for 13$ with built-in 5-inch display with a resolution 800*480 for 29$.It`s a very budget solution, but I think I should choose monitors with more resolution for perfect pictures."

In August we completed work on the firmware and now we can sell our cameras. At BlackBird 2 you can update the firmware at home using special programs.
